Tom Fennell brought his brewing skills to Fannin County for two simple reasons: Fresh air and fresh water make for fresh beer. Being local is important to Fannin Brewing; it’s in the name of their beers. Jack "Mimm" McClure (1914-1969) was a moonshiner and philanthropist in the North Georgia Mountains. Cartecay Vineyards is located in Ellijay in the scenic Cartecay region. The vineyard has entertainment on weekends and the Tasting Barn is a refurbished circa 1890s barn, with seating area round a wood fire stove, covered porch, deck and events room, which was originally a hay loft.
