Overview
Invite your friends, family and co-workers -- and dogs! -- to run, walk, hike or woof this fun off-road event!
This is a unique trail run, walk, hike, and family-friendly outdoor event held on the sanctuary grounds.
Participants enjoy a challenging off-road course through the North Georgia mountains while supporting the care of over 100 retired chimpanzees.
This is a rain or shine, non-refundable event.
NOTE: The course is just short of a true 5k. But, what we lack in distance, we make up for in grit! Our trails feature inclines and declines through nature with frequent uneven surfaces including, but not limited to, sticks, rocks and wooden structures.
WHERE: Project Chimps in Morganton, Georgia The 5k-ish course uses a combination of our entrance gravel road, our Green Trail, and our White and Yellow Trails. These off-road foot trails are in the forest with roots and rocks, steep inclines and descents, and even some stairs. Be aware that there's over 700 ft of elevation gain on this course.
The 1 mile-ish Knuckle Walk uses a combination of our entrance gravel road and the East Loop of our Green Trail. The trail will have roots and rocks, some ascents and descents, and some stairs. This route has an elevation gain of 112 feet.
