Downtown will be all lit up with a Window Decorating contest, so take a stroll and check out the shop windows for a magical experience.  The big tree in the park will be all lit up.  And Santa Clause will be in the Gazebo for children to visit. Here is the link for Light Up Blue Ridge:

Look for the decorated holiday house in the park for kids to write letters to Santa!

Plus, the Art Center is doing a Gingerbread Display:

Blue Ridge Scenic Railway

Visit Santa and Mrs. Claus and take a Christmas-themed ride aboard the BRSR. Every kid will get a traditional bell and candy cane. Blue Ridge Scenic Railway will be hosting Santa Express Trains in November and December, however some restrictions because of COVID-19 safety will be in effect. Due to COVID, Santa and Mrs. Claus will not be on the train this year. However, they will be open for visits and photos in their Christmas caboose at the Depot.

INOLA Holiday Decorations

INOLA Holiday Festival
Nestled in a forest in Blue Ridge is a colonial style village that includes the Wythe Estate, Wetherburn’s Tavern, and a Virginia chapel from the 1700s. Built by an eccentric visionary in the 1980s, the estate is taking on a new life as an upscale mixed-use property. The Annual INOLA Holilday Festival and ice skating rink is returning in 2020. The festival opens with a tree lighting and fireworks on November 27th, and will continue through Monday January 5th.

Ice Skating is back at INOLA... don some skates for a wintery good time. It’s open everyday from Noon to 10 p.m. plus on Dec. 5th there is a Holiday Sip, Skate and Stroll event.

Blue Ridge Community Theater

Gift of the Magi 2.0
November 27th to December 13th

Based on the story by O. Henry, Adapted by N. Emil Thomas, Directed by Lee Dittman

Show Dates: November 27 – December 13; Thursday – Saturday at 7:30PM; Sunday at 2:00PM

Gift of the Magi 2.0 re-imagines O. Henry’s holiday classic Gift of the Magi, setting the tale in Atlanta in the 1950s. This affecting adaptation centers around a local streetcar driver who’s struggling to stay afloat during the Atlanta Transit strike. Christmas is around the corner, and the young man is determined to find a way to buy his wife the perfect gift, without realizing she’s doing the same for him. This play tells the story of love, sacrifice and the blessings that we take for granted.
