Directed by Nancy Sladky, The Miracle Worker by William Gibson is a Main Stage performance about the powerful and inspiring true story of young Helen Keller, set in the 1880s. Blind and deaf since infancy, Helen's extraordinary teacher, Annie Sullivan, was fiercely dedicated to helping to break through the silence and darkness of Helen’s world, opening a door to a new life. The Miracle Worker celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the transformative power of education and perseverance.
Premiering on Broadway in 1959, it earned widespread acclaim, going on to win five Tony Awards, including Best Play. The 1962 film adaptation won two Academy Awards, cementing its place as one of the most beloved and enduring American dramas.
