Plein Air International Paint-Out Event​ ~ The Art Center

The Plein Air International Paint-Out event & exhibit showcases the immediacy and vibrancy of plein air painting, with artists capturing the shifting light and rich landscapes of North Georgia. This collection offers a fresh, authentic glimpse into the
natural beauty and spirit of Blue Ridge in its autumn greatness.

The Plein Air Event is an open invitation to all artists, amateur and professional, to paint the natural beauty of our area. Artists are welcome to bring their easels and capture the awe-inspiring fall scenes of Fannin County & Blue Ridge, Georgia.

Additionally, we are continuing our quick paint event for awards at The Art Center on Friday. On Sunday, artists will return to the Art Center to submit up to two (2) pieces of artwork for judging and exhibition. Prizes totaling $1,000 will also be awarded for this year’s event.

This year’s event offers a special one-day workshop with plein air artist, and this year’s judge, Marsha Hamby Savage. Our Quick Paint event for awards will be at Old Toccoa Farms on Friday, September 11th. On Sunday, September 13th, artists will return to the Art Center to submit up to two (2) pieces of artwork for judging and exhibition. Prizes totaling $1,000 will be awarded for this year’s event.

We encourage all participating artists, 18 years or older, to submit their plein air art work for our Plein Air exhibit on display from September 13 – October 31 in our Studio Gallery. All artwork on display will be exhibited during the Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association 2026 Fall Arts in the Park festival, which is estimated at over 10,000 attendees in two days.
