Sunny D Presents NEWSIES!

The musical Newsies is an inspiring underdog story based on the real-life Newsboys Strike of 1899 in New York City. It follows a charismatic, rebellious newsboy named Jack Kelly who rallies a ragtag group of youth to strike against powerful newspaper publishers Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst when they raise the wholesale price of newspapers at the expense of the kids.

Featuring hit songs like "Carrying the Banner" and "Seize the Day," the show focuses on themes of friendship, workers' rights, and the power of unity. As the kids form their own union and fight for better conditions, Jack also faces personal dilemmas about his own future and his growing relationship with Katherine Plumber, a spirited young reporter covering the strike.
