Since he was ten years old Rob has had a fly rod in his hands, thanks to his father. At an early age, Rob has been fly fishing and tying his own flies with a passion that has not let up. Rob spent his early years trout fishing on the rivers of upstate New York. Then, migrating to South Florida, he forged a new love for Tarpon, Snook, and other salt water species. Life came full circle when, two years ago, he and his family moved to the North Georgia mountains, where trout fishing has become a spotlight again. You can often find him on the local rivers fly fishing with his own fly creations.
Come join Rob, The Folk, and friends for an introductory session on basic skills of fly tying where we will learn the beginning skills of this beautiful art form. As a group, we will tie two of Rob’s favorite flies to help you catch the ‘Big One’ on our local rivers.
