Overview

The Art Center presents a special pop-up exhibition featuring The Fine Art Photography of David Goodspeed, on view July 2 through September 5, 2026.

A licensed architect and lifelong artist, Goodspeed approaches photography with a refined understanding of structure, composition, light, and atmosphere. His early photographic work experimented with blended black-and-white darkroom images, combining multiple negatives to create surreal and heightened interpretations of reality.
Since making his home in the mountains, Goodspeed has increasingly turned his lens toward the landscapes of the Blue Ridge region. His photographs capture more than scenic beauty; they reveal the quiet geometry, shifting light, mood, and natural character of the places around us. Exhibited and recognized throughout the Southeast, his work invites viewers to slow down and experience familiar surroundings through the careful eye of both an artist and an architect.
