The Georgia HEART Hospital Program is helping rural and critical access hospitals take advantage of an exciting opportunity to increase their funding and their ability to provide for the health care needs of thousands of Georgians! Over $1.4 million has already been allocated to Blue Ridge Medical Center, and we have the potential to get up to $4 million.
In summary:
- The Georgia HEART program is a dollar-for-dollar Georgia Income Tax Credit program, whereby individuals, married couples, LLCs, S-Corps, C-Corps, pass-through entities, and separate entities can redirect their 2025 Georgia income taxes to Blue Ridge Medical Center.
- When you redirect your Georgia income tax dollars back to the hospital (money you are already paying to the Georgia Department of Revenue), you will help the community, your business, and our hospital. Additionally, your company may be eligible for a federal tax deduction by participating in the program (please consult with your tax advisor).
- It takes 60 seconds to complete the online application by visiting www.georgiaheart.org.
- You need just two things from your accountant: What is your filing status, as in are you married filing jointly or owner of a pass-through, etc.? How much money does your accountant recommend that you redirect to Blue Ridge Medical Center based on your 2025 income tax liability?
Don't have an accountant and need some guidance? Contact either Julie Shirah, Director of Georgia HEART & Cardiac Rehab at Blue Ridge Medical Center, or Lisa Kelly, Senior Advisor for the Georgia HEART Program.

After you complete the online application, it will be processed by Georgia HEART staff and approved by the Georgia Department of Revenue. Then, you would have until December 31, 2025, to make your Georgia Income Tax payment.
