The Chamber of Commerce team is committed to investing in the youth! We love exposing our interns to the work of the Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Office, all while we learn unique perspectives from a younger generation.
The Fannin County Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Office gladly will accept resumes from high school or college students looking for internships. Ideally, we would host an intern for at least two years, but we can be flexible with schedules, as needed, and based on skillsets. Early in my career, I worked as a campus recruiter for three large corporations, hiring college interns and recent graduates. This became a passion, as I guided young adults through the early stages of their careers—from resume building to interview prep. I nearly transitioned into a university career coach role, but life led me elsewhere, and I’ve continued to find ways to coach and develop youth. Reflecting on my own journey, I understand how daunting life can be for young people navigating career paths with limited exposure to certain fields, which is why I’m so committed to helping them discover the many possibilities, including those at the Fannin County Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Office.
Over the past eight years, I've had the honor of mentoring some amazing interns in Economic Development and at the Chamber. Today, I’m excited to share a few of their stories, with the hope that it will inspire others to invest in our youth. It will pay dividends—not only for them but for our community.

One of the greatest benefits of working with interns is how much we learn from them. Some of the technology that seems foreign to us is second nature to them—they’ve grown up with it. And having a high schooler's perspective is always refreshing. Interns often serve as a bridge between education and business, helping us build stronger connections with the future workforce.
