Stakeholders gathered to celebrate the community's conservation efforts and watch the fireflies.
Firefly Day, July 2, was full of fun for Fannin County!
We had five Chamber member businesses jump in for the fun!
Mercier Orchards hid Flash the Firefly in the orchards. If you found Flash, took a picture with him, and brought it back to the service desk, you received a free gift! They also had fun coloring sheets featuring Flash the Firefly.
Situations Designs opened their doors for the first day on firefly day and offered three exclusive, tiered introductory discounts for shoppers at that time.
Blue Ridge Medical Center had fireflies decorating the cafeteria to enjoy and placed fun firefly-themed art and information on the food trays.
United Community Bank had a firefly day coloring contest!
North Georgia Mountain Crisis Network Thrift Store offered 10% off coupons for visitors to use.
Our three Visitor Centers handed out firefly viewers and game cards to visitors on Firefly Day and will continue to hand out viewers the month of July!
On the evening of July 2, stakeholders gathered to celebrate the conservation efforts we have implemented over the years, recognize our newest participants in the C2C program, and enjoy nature's own light show at dusk. The fireflies truly put on a great show this year!
