Wood Carving Workshop

December 10, 2024—1 Session (Tuesday) from 5:00 pm to 7:00pm

Class Fee: $25.00 non-members + $10 supply fee

Free for BRMAA members + $10 supply fee

This workshop will introduce students to wood carving including tool safety, and basic tool usage will be emphasized. Students will learn the safe procedures for carving using a knife, and be introduced to sharpening, stropping, check-cuts, push-cuts, stop-cuts and paring-cuts. Tools will be available to use or bring your favorite knife. In the November workshop, students will work on carving a Santa Claus. In the December workshop, students will work on carving a snowman. No previous experience needed. Limited seating, please sign up early. For BRMAA members, you are welcome to join The Blue Ridge Wood Carvers regular meetings every Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. here at the Art Center.
