The 1st Annual Blue Ridge Chalk Festival

Mark your calendars! September 9th & 10th will be the 1st Annual Blue Ridge Chalk Festival located at the Blue Ridge Farmer's Market. This unique event will feature chalk artists from The Georgia Chalk Artists Guild, as well as other world class artists.  

Friday, September 9,

The event begins on Friday night, Sept. 9th kick off, a private meet and greet gala from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.  Live music from Breaking Point, a catered meal, beer & wine along with exclusive access to speak with the Artists .  Artist will be setting up for the Saturday event and will be explaining the process as well as stories from decades of world travel. Purchase tickets to the Friday night event.

Saturday, September 10,

The Blue Ridge Chalk Festival will open the gates at 11 am and continue until 9pm that night. Artists will be chalking all day in their designated spaces. Watch amazing drawings come to life while enjoying various food, beer, and wine options. Local and Student artists will also be on display as well as a children's area to encourage up and coming artists! There will also be a 25’+ mural of “BLUE RIDGE” that will be available for everyone to help complete, put your mark on this unique art project. A shuttle service will also be availabe to transport passengers to downtown to visit our incredible sponsors. At 5pm the artists will be wrapping up, but not the festivities.

Stick around and spend the evening enjoying live music, food and drink with some amazing friends and artists.

Here are just a couple  of the artists you will see there;

"Stacey Williams-Ng is a multidisciplinary artist from Memphis TN, and her workshop is called La Panthère Studios. Stacey has been doing chalk art for about 15 years, as well as wall murals, children's books, record album covers and tarot cards. Her designs center around colorful and evocative themes, most recently focusing on the "Southern Gothic" folklore of the Mississippi Delta."

"Laura Thomas is a professional artist born and raised in the mountains of Colorado, currently living and creating in Saint Petersburg, Florida. She has been a Professional Chalk Artist for 11+ years. Throughout her ever growing career as a professional artist she has always strived to create art that inspires, evokes thoughts & feelings, or simply spreads joy and positivity. She holds the belief that "art" and "the arts" can and will change the world for the better. Laura specializes in chalk art, commissioned paintings and various other forms of art."

"Chris M. Monaghan is a professional artist based out of the Clearwater, FL area. His artwork has been featured at festivals and events around the country. Chris enjoys making 3D street paintings that encourage people to interact and become part of the drawing themselves. In addition to chalk drawing, Chris also produces paintings, murals, illustrations and digital artwork NFTs."

Jessi Queen "Queen Art and Design is a collaborative started by Jessi Queen. With her husband Zachary Herndon and their chalk friends, she strives to build community and share the chalk art with others. She specializes in large chalk murals, 3D chalk art, chalk workshops, and interactive art. Designing experiences has always been Jessi’s passion and she spends her day job as a UX designer at Sapient Razorfish. Outside of work you can find her chalking all over the US and Europe. She works at art festivals, trade shows, music festivals and private events."
