Wellness & Fall Prevention
Presented by: Paula Burks
In this interactive session, Paula Burks, a physical therapist for over 25 years, will lead participants in learning simple stretches and safe strengthening exercises that can be incorporated into their everyday routines. Paula Burks is the owner of Apogee18 Wellness and Rehabilitation. The mission is to serve individuals and families 55+ who desire to keep their independence and energy for years to come. This session will help participants understand how to set personal goals by learning basic exercises that can help participants stretch, become stronger, and prevent falling or other injuries. Come dressed in your stretchy clothes!

Have you ever thought about traveling to Greece? Come to this session to learn from someone who has lived in Greece and can give recommendations on the best ways to travel and explore Greece. Irene will share stories about her time living there and how to get the most out of your trip. Do not miss this session for the tips, recommended places to go, and things to do in Greece. Bring your questions and curiosity!

In this session, Rhonda Belcher will take participants on a virtual tour to explore North Georgia right in a classroom. Participants will learn about the best places to travel in North Georgia for whatever they desire. Join us for this informational and fun session! There may be some surprises included. Music turned up; windows rolled down: let's explore North Georgia and beyond!

Healing from Trauma
Presented by: Catherine Koerner
Participants will learn how physical, mental, and emotional trauma can affect the human body. Different types of traumas will also be discussed. Catherine Koerner, a retired nurse, will share her traumas; other participants will be welcome to do so if they choose. Some coping mechanisms will be shared to help participants have the skills to cope with their traumas.

History of Copperhill
Presented by: Richard Jabaley
During this session, participants will learn about the history of Copperhill from someone who has lived there for 87 years. Richard Jabaley will give participants an illustration of what the Copperhill area used to be like and share his life experiences of growing up there. This includes businesses in the area and discussing what happened to the Copperhill Mines.

Creating Useful & Practical Spreadsheets using Excel or Numbers
Presented by: Mike Rogers
Learn how to create a variety of practical spreadsheets that you can use in your everyday life. Such as budgeting, record keeping, and medical information. Please bring your technology (any technology - and iPad or computer) to practice hands-on, as you will create spreadsheets during this session. Join us for this informational hands-on session!

Underwater Ghost Towns: What Lies Beneath North Georgia's Lakes
Presented by: Heather Welch
Underwater Ghost Towns: What Lies Beneath North Georgia's Lakes? Uses Lisa M. Russell's fascinating book to understand the history of our natural world in Georgia and draw on public library resources. This lecture covers the history behind Georgia's major lakes, including our North Georgia lakes and the infamous Lake Lanier. At the end, we are further reading through MRLS resources. Dr. Heather Welch has a Ph.D. in History from Georgia State University and is an alumnus of UNG.
