Labor Day Barbecue

This annual Labor Day event, hosted by the Good Samaritans of Fannin County, returns again. On Sunday the 5th at 6 p.m. there will be an outdoor community worship service and congregational singing followed by an old-fashioned ice cream social provided by Dairy Queen.

Monday, Sept. 6th, The Good Samaritans will host their annual Bar-B-Que (in the downtown Blue Ridge park), but this year will be drive-thru only from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., or until the food runs out. Barbecue Ribs, chicken, pulled pork sandwiches and delicious sides. Signs will guide drivers through.

There will be live music on the stage during the barbeque. Tickets will be available at the event as well as drive-thru service to pick up meals.  Advanced tickets are available at American Wholesale Print Shop, the Fannin County Chamber of Commerce and participating churches.

Funds raised during the barbecue are used by the Good Samaritans to help individuals and families who request financial help.  The Good Samaritans group crosses denominational lines and includes Baptist, Catholic, Charismatic, Disciples of Christ, Episcopal, Lutheran, Methodist and Presbyterian churches in Fannin County.
