Fannin Brewing Company
Fresh Air. Fresh Water. Fresh Beer
Tom Fennell started Fannin Brewing Company in Blue Ridge for two simple reasons: Fresh air and fresh water make fresh beer. While working in Germany, he learned what great lagers taste like. He started brewing at Blue Ridge Brewery for about a year. Then, after working up some recipes, he found a great warehouse on East First Street in Blue Ridge. He started his brewing operation small. With three and five barrel fermenters and a modified pilot brewhouse, Tom started to make Hiawassee Golden Ale, Blue Ridge Lager, Toccoa Brown and a whole bunch of new beers.

Over the course of the last four years, Fannin Brewing has made barrel aged beers, sour beers, more German style beers, IPAs and more. Tom loves to make beers with real local ingredients. Strawberries, blackberries, Sourwood honey and Sorghum all find there way into Fannin beers. And as the beer styles continue to develop and change, so will Fannin Brewing Company.
Fannin Brewing's Tasting Room, located at 3758 First Street in Blue Ridge, is open for tastings Friday and Saturday from 2 to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. The Tasting Room features live music and food trucks most weekends. Follow them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/Fanni...
