Fannin County Hotel/Motel Excise Tax
From January to May 2025, we’ve seen an approximate 5% increase in County hotel/motel (lodging) tax collections, and the City has seen an 11% increase in Q1 collections compared to 2024. Additionally, SPLOST collections to date are 3.4% over last year at this same time.
Why is this significant?
Last year was a great year, and despite the volatile US economy, our community continues to thrive.
Year to date (January–May 2025), the Chamber’s portion of restricted funds totals $1.1 million, with approximately $187,000 dedicated to Tourism Product Development (TPD). Additionally, Fannin County Government has received over $1.1 million in unrestricted funds, with our strongest months still ahead.
Tourism Product Development (TPD) projects:
As noted above, over $187,000 has been allocated to TPD projects to date this year! These capital projects benefit our entire community—residents, visitors, and children of all ages.
